Our team work closely with our customers on developing their product, from inception, to prototyping and on to mass production.
Certified to ISO 13485 (Medical Device), Thormac are the primary go-to injection moulding facility for many medical device manufacturers. Thormac is a technically advanced, one stop shop, injection moulding solution provider in engineering plastics (see here), for in-vitro diagnostics and medical devices industries in small to medium volumes with ‘large part’ capability.
Thormac are one of five worldwide and one of two in Europe injection moulders chosen by Sekisui to trial their injection moulding grade of Kydex. Customers who have medical devices that either are handled frequently or are used in sanitised environments, whose products require frequent cleaning with solvents should consider the chemically resistance plastic Kydex.
KYDEX® T-IM is UL94 V-0 Compliant, chemically resistant, durable and has integral colour that allows it to be harmonize with thermoformed parts. KYDEX® resists bacteriological and fungal development which makes it ideal for use in hospitals, food industry, etc. It does not readily provide a source of nutrients for bacteria and fungi. Since it does not contain plasticizers, the main source of nutrients is removed and it performs very well when tested for bacterial and fungal growth.
